About Me

Hello and thank you for stopping by my website! My name is Larissa Block and I am a photographer in Los Angeles. To give you a little background, I grew up in Los Angeles (Pasadena area) then moved to Santa Barbara to attend college at UCSB. My junior year of college I studied abroad, a semester in Italy and a semester in France (unbelievable experience!) While living in Italy, I took my first photography class and was completely hooked on taking pictures. After graduating from UCSB, I immediately attended Brooks Institute of Photography from 2000-2003 and received a second Bachelor's Degree. After graduation, I moved to New York to be a photo assistant and learn the business side of photography. In 2005, I returned to Los Angeles where I started my photography career focusing on celebrity and musician portrait photography for magazine editorials. While struggling to make ends meet as I began my photographic journey in the working world, I started shooting families and babies on the side and quickly realized that I had found my true passion.

Fast forward 19 years (man, time flies!) and I am happily married to an incredible man who loves that I have followed my creative passion. I am a mom of two happy and sweet children, ages 11 & 13, who bring such joy to my life. There are so many aspects I adore about being a photographer. I truly enjoy working with babies & children and getting to watch them grow through the years. I love that each day and every shoot is a new adventure and leads me in new directions creatively. I also love meeting and getting to know new families! I love when children show me their true colors and I get to document those moments forever. Sweet, silly, energetic, timid and everything in-between, this is the essence of childhood and exactly what I strive to capture on every photo session. Since becoming a parent, I have learned to appreciate the little things- a silly expression, a loving touch, a glance that speaks volumes. These are the moments that mean so much and are frozen in time to remember forever.
